Yacht repair

Dear customers,
Referring to frequent inquiries of marina berth holders who need repair works on their boats and companies who would like to perform commercial works in the marina, we would like to notify you of some essential facts dealing with commercial business in Olive Island Marina.

Please note that only the companies registered in the Republic of Croatia are allowed to perform works within Olive Island Marina premises. The other condition is that the company has signed the contract with marina. The companies without a contractual relationship are allowed to perform works but have to pay charges in line with the current price list. Prior to start working the required documents have to be presented; power of attorney and a certificate of the acknowledgment of work issued by competent police station, if dealing with foreign companies.

According to Croatian law aliens may work in the Republic of Croatia on the basis of a work or businesses permit (Article 114(1) of the said Act). The Aliens Act prescribes the categories of aliens that shall be exempted from the work or business permit requirement, provided that they do not reside in the Republic of Croatia for more than 30 days during a year. These categories of aliens shall not start working prior to having obtained a certificate of the acknowledgment of work without work or business permit issued by the competent local police administration or police station depending on the location on which business is being carried out (Article 139 of the said Act).

In line with the Article 139 in this category are aliens whose work is included as a condition in warranty rights. Besides a certificate of the acknowledgment of work, an authorization given by the owner of the boat is to be presented at the Marina reception and a daily charge is to be paid. We have to point out that as stated in the terms of the Contract on Concession, signed between Marina and the Croatian Government, private persons are not permitted to carry out business activities.
